Regulatory Tests
POLLUTANT EMISSIONS MEASUREMENT SERVICES
Regulations now require manufacturers to conduct tests to ensure the compliance of their powertrains. As a recognized testing center for accredited tests, CRMT offers pollutant measurement campaigns for regulated emissions across a wide range of powertrains and applications:
- Heavy-duty vehicles : Trucks, buses, and coaches, for which we perform In-Service Conformity (ISC) cycles to ensure compliance with current standards.
- Special road vehicles and non-road machinery : Including agricultural machinery, trains, boats, construction equipment, and generators, with measurements based on In-Service Monitoring (ISM) cycles.
- Light-duty vehicles: We conduct full Real Driving Emissions (RDE) cycles, covering urban, extra-urban, and highway routes.
We have developed various routes tailored to the vehicles and specific standards (distribution between urban, extra-urban, and highway segments) for both light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles.
Our measurement campaigns involve equipping vehicles with cutting-edge equipment to meet the following standards:
- Euro 6 for light-duty vehicles, in compliance with Regulation 2018/1832.
- Euro VI (Steps C, D, E) for heavy-duty vehicles and buses, in compliance with Regulations 582/2011, 2018/932, and 2019/1939.
- Stage V for non-road machinery, in compliance with Regulation 2022/1832.
TECHNICAL RESSOURCES
For the measurement of regulated pollutant emissions, CRMT relies on advanced technology and its collaboration with HORIBA France to utilize high-precision measurement instruments:
- PEMS (Portable Emissions Measurement System): It enables the measurement of exhaust gases such as CO, THC (including CH4 and NMHC for gas-powered vehicles), NOx, CO2, NO, NO2, as well as particle number (PN23). Our PEMS units are regularly maintained and calibrated to ensure compliance with current standards.
- Flow Meter: Used in conjunction with the PEMS, this instrument measures exhaust flow, which is essential for performing the calculations required by regulations.
